U.S. Banker’s Rebecca Sausner updates the progress Citigroup’s Capital Markets division has made since launching a massive grid computing project four years ago. Like many other financial services companies, Citi turned to grid for easing traditional batch processing functions. But the company has moved into new realms, too. In particular, Citi extended the grid “beyond the trading floor, across the enterprise and into the retail banking division,” and in the process built a complete shared services model, the article reports.
